How to configure gateway fees

Set fee percentage, flat fee, and tax-on-fee per payment gateway. Use keyword matching to auto-apply the right rate to each order.

Step 1: Add a gateway rate

Go to Costs → Gateway Fees tab. Click “Add Gateway Rate” and fill in:

KeywordText to match against Shopify's gateway name (case-insensitive). E.g., 'razorpay', 'stripe', 'paypal'
Fee %Percentage charged on order amount. E.g., 2.36% for Razorpay
Flat FeeFixed per-transaction charge. E.g., $0.30 for Stripe
Tax on Fee %Tax charged on the gateway fee itself. E.g., 18% GST in India. Set to 0 if no tax on fees.

Step 2: Test your configuration

Use the Gateway Test Tool at the bottom of the tab. Enter a gateway name and order amount to see:

  • •Which rate matched (or “no match — using fallback”)
  • •Base fee calculation
  • •Tax on fee calculation
  • •Total fee
  • •Whether COD was detected

Fallback chain

When processing an order, NetNet checks fees in this order:

  1. 1.Your configured gateway rate (keyword match)
  2. 2.Shopify's reported transaction fees (Shopify Payments only)
  3. 3.Plan-based estimate (Basic: 2%, Shopify: 1%, Advanced: 0.5%)
